What an affiliate link means

An affiliate link contains information that lets a retailer or network credit a referral. Potential partners discussed on this site include Amazon Associates, the B&H Affiliate Program, the Sweetwater Affiliate Program, Thomann, Best Buy, and direct manufacturer programs. Naming a program does not mean every link is currently enrolled or commissionable.

How recommendations are chosen

We begin with the reader scenario, connection requirements, published specifications, workflow, tradeoffs, and reasonable alternatives. Commission rate is not a product-quality criterion. A partner cannot buy a favorable conclusion, numeric rating, or exclusion of a stronger alternative.

Prices and availability

We generally use “Check current price” because prices, promotions, bundles, and stock change. A retailer button is a convenient destination, not a promise that the merchant is the cheapest or currently has inventory.

Samples and sponsored work

If a product is loaned, gifted, or covered in sponsored content, the relevant article will disclose that relationship prominently. Sponsored work will be labeled and kept distinct from independent buying guides.
